A BMS system is designed to maximise efficiency in the power, lighting, heating and ventilation systems. ‘Smart’ technology allows the system to ‘learn’ the occupancy habits of a building and then adjust the heating and ventilation requirements accordingly.
For example, if office space is required to be at a certain temperature during working hours, the system can calculate the outside temperature, thermal efficiency of the area and capacity of the system to ensure that the space is heated to the correct temperature using the minimum amount of energy.
